Crawford Eagles Cast Out Carey Blue Devils

NORTH ROBINSON, OH-  After a tough loss to Northmor earlier in the week, the Colonel Crawford Eagles got back in the win column with their first win in N-10 play and second in three tries with a 71-56 win at home over the Carey Blue Devils on Saturday evening.

The Eagles led by four after the first quarter at 20-16, and by four at the break 35-31.  But outscored the Blue Devils 21-16 to lead by nine after three 56-47, then held Carey to nine fourth-quarter points winning 71-56. 

Colonel Crawford was led by sophomore point guard Cameron McCreary who dropped in a game-high 30 points.  McCreary was backed by senior Brody Martin with 17, Harley Shaum had nine, Jordan Fenner six, Gavin Feichtner five, Hayden Bute two, and Chase Walker one. 

For Carey, the Blue devils were led by Cody Luzader with 24 points, followed by Trey Bame with 11, Hayden Stone ten, Brayden Wentling and Logan Smiley had four, Griffin Summit two, and Casey Crawford one. 

With the win, Crawford improves to 2-1 in all games and 1-0 in the N-10 and will play host to 1-1 Mohawk on Friday.  Carey at 2-1, 0-1 will entertain 3-1 Upper Sandusky Friday in conference play.  The Rams saw their 49 game regular season winning streak end on Saturday evening at Shelby in a 68-59 loss.  It was the first loss suffered by Upper Sandusky since February 17th, 2015 in overtime at Upper Sandusky, ironically to Shelby 87-80.
